Sean Lyons knew early in life that he wanted to be on the radio.   His father, Ron Lyons, was a legendary jock in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 40 years.   As a small child, Sean would sit in the air studio watching his Dad spin records, crack jokes, occasionally answer the phone, and entertain listeners.  Ron tried to convince Sean to find another career, because of the inevitable heartbreak that working in the industry brings.

 

Ron's exact words to Sean?

 

"Run guns, sell coke, but do NOT go into radio!"

 

Alas, Sean did not listen, and spent 20 years in major market radio before moving to the Curry County Coast in 2006. At KGBR, Sean plays music, cracks jokes, occasionally answers the phone and tries to entertain listeners. He doesn't regret his career choice... but excess amounts of money would've been nice!
